# Snapshots

A snapshot saves a computer's disk and memory so it can resume exactly where it stopped.

## How it works

Describe the lifecycle in three or four sentences: how it starts, what changes
while it runs and how it ends.

| State      | Meaning                          |
| ---------- | -------------------------------- |
| `starting` | Elios is preparing it.           |
| `running`  | It is ready and accepting work.  |
| `stopped`  | It is paused and keeps its data. |
